Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

2 teaspoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 large onion, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Cooked white rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the meat and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the steak is marinating, slice the onion and peppers. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Set aside.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.

Sear the Steak: Add the marinated steak to the pan in a single layer. Let it sear without stirring for about 1-2 minutes, allowing it to develop a nice color. Then stir-fry until it’s mostly cooked but still tender, about another 2 minutes. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the garlic, ginger, onions, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Combine and Finish: Return the cooked steak to the pan and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through, about 1-2 minutes.

Serve: Transfer the sizzling pepper steak and vegetables to a serving plate, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve hot over a bed of cooked rice or noodles.
