Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon shredded coconut (optional)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Bananas: Peel and slice the bananas into rounds and set aside.

Heat the Pan: In a large non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it begins to foam.

Add Sweeteners: Sprinkle the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and a pinch of salt into the melted butter. Stir the mixture until the sugar fully dissolves and forms a syrup-like consistency.

Fry the Bananas: Carefully add the banana slices to the pan in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown. Flip the bananas gently and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.

Add Vanilla and Coconut: Once both sides are caramelized, drizzle the vanilla extract over the bananas and sprinkle with shredded coconut, allowing it to toast slightly in the pan.

Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the bananas to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired and serve warm.
