Ingredients

2 large onions, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions along with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 10-12 minutes until the onions become soft and translucent, stirring occasionally.

Once the onions are caramelized and golden brown, remove the skillet from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Fold in the sautéed onions and the remaining cheddar cheese along with the grated Parmesan cheese, ensuring everything is well mixed.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the dip mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chives if desired before serving.
