The Caesar salad has stood the test of time as one of the most beloved salads around the globe. Its origins are somewhat shrouded in mystery, but many attribute its creation to Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant who concocted the dish in Tijuana, Mexico, during the 1920s. Traditionally made with romaine lettuce, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a creamy dressing, the Caesar salad quickly gained popularity for its robust flavors and satisfying textures. It has since evolved into numerous variations, accommodating diverse tastes and dietary preferences.

Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup croutons (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat them in the marinade. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Grill the Chicken: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Once cooked, remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Salad: In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, croutons, and grated Parmesan cheese.

Dress the Salad: Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently until everything is well coated.

Assemble the Dish: Slice the grilled chicken into strips and layer it on top of the salad. Serve with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh lemon wedges on the side for a zesty kick.

Serve: Enjoy your freshly prepared Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad warm or at room temperature!
