Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 pound ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 egg, lightly beaten

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for cooking

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or mint)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, red onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, and the beaten egg. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Form the Meatballs: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Use your hands to form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cook the Meatballs: Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C). Alternatively, you can cook them in a skillet over medium heat with olive oil for a few minutes on each side until browned.

Make the Tzatziki Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Serve: Once the meatballs are cooked, serve them warm with a generous side of tzatziki sauce. You can also garnish with additional chopped parsley or dill, and serve with pita bread, fresh veggies, or over a salad for a complete meal.
