Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Lower the heat and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency. Add the shrimp back to the skillet. Stir in the Italian seasoning, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, to taste.

Serve: Plate the creamy garlic shrimp pasta, sprinkle with chopped parsley on top, and serve immediately.
