Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir until well combined.

Add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Mix well until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the dark chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares or bars.

Enjoy your delicious Chocolate Chip Banana Bars!
