Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/4 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

Sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for about 2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and beef broth. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the blanched broccoli and stir-fry for about 2 minutes. Add the beef back to the skillet and pour the sauce over the ingredients. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.

Finish with Sesame Oil: Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fry, give it a quick toss, and remove from heat.

Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli hot over a bed of jasmine rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a final touch.
