Ingredients

1 package of breakfast sausage links (about 12 links)

1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Optional: maple syrup or your favorite dipping sauce for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Sausages: If your sausage links are not pre-cooked, cook them in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into triangles along the pre-scored lines.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheddar cheese on each triangle, towards the wider end.

Roll the Sausage: Place a cooked sausage link on top of the cheese at the wide end of the triangle. Roll the dough around the sausage, starting at the wide end and rolling towards the point. Pinch the seams to seal.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each for even cooking.

Add Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder and onion powder, then sprinkle it evenly over the pigs in a blanket.

Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the tops of each pig in a blanket with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden finish while baking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and puffed up.

Serve: Let them cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
